GUCCI
A rebellious, Y2K-inspired shift away from minimalism, where smoky eyes, frosted lips, and undone textures redefine modern luxury beauty.
Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway marked a clear departure from the restrained “clean girl” aesthetic, instead embracing a bold, high-impact beauty direction inspired by late ’90s and early 2000s nightlife. The makeup centered on heavily smudged kohl-lined eyes and diffused smoky shadow, intentionally worn and imperfect to evoke a sense of lived-in glamour. Skin was sculpted with defined contouring and minimal blush, creating a sharp, structured complexion, while brows were noticeably thinned or lightened to enhance the raw, undone effect.
Lips introduced a nostalgic Y2K element through frosted nudes, icy pinks, and glossy finishes, often contrasted with subtle liner definition. Rather than a uniform look, the beauty direction allowed for variation across models, reinforcing a sense of individuality and attitude. The overall result was a striking return to expressive, rebellious beauty—where excess, imperfection, and post-party dishevelment take centre stage.
