THE ART OF LOOKING TWICE

As the main partner of BFC NEWGEN, Pull&Bear continues to support emerging designers through its ‘Canvas for Creativity’ project. Following collaborations with Chet Lo, Johanna Parv, LUEDER and Karoline Vitto, Pull&Bear has joined forces with emerging designer Oscar Ouyang for the SS27 season of London Fashion Week, with the support of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN programme.

Qin Chen’s collection When the Seams Begin to Dream presents three garments that pair solid and void, tailoring and disruption, transparency and opacity to create a collection which exists at the crossroads of restraint and release. A clear curatorial vision unites the three garments through shared disrupted classical tailoring and the use of cut-outs, panels and contrasting materials connecting each piece while allowing each to present its own interpretation of classical tailoring.

A2Z visited Paolina Russo’s London studio to talk about the collaboration, growing up outside the traditional centres of fashion, the role of technology in their work, and the hobbies, friendships and everyday obsessions that continue to shape the world around the brand.
