ALAÏA
A Cinematic Ode to Elegance
Alaïa’s latest Summer/Fall 2025 campaign unfolds like a cinematic masterpiece, channeling the haunting atmospheres of Pieter Mulier’s favorite films: Jane Campion’s The Piano, Lars von Trier’s Breaking the Waves, William Wyler’s Wuthering Heights, and Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon. The visual poetry even evokes Ingmar Bergman’s iconic figure of Death on the beach in The Seventh Seal (1957).

Set against the wild, windswept shores of Northern France, between Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, Loli Bahia and Nastassia Legrand move with an almost otherworldly grace, captured through the lenses of the talented Lebon brothers, Tyrone and Frank. “Clothes move like kinetic sculpture, living, animated with pleats and drapes. Hoods conceal and reveal, framing faces like a portrait of a woman, a portrait of beauty,” Mulier writes of the collection.

The campaign balances sombre tones with a sense of living elegance, where each frame feels both intimate and monumental — a modern reflection of timeless cinematic storytelling.
